Slippery Rock shines at Wilmington Relays
Slippery Rock’s boys shuttle hurdle team of Josh Tustin, Jesse Gahring, Eli Anderson, and Levi Prementine posted a time of 1 minute, 3.3 seconds at Saturday’s weather-shortened Wilmington Relays, setting a school and meet record in that event.
Prementine, Dustin Joyce, and Zach Lasko placed first in the long jump, while Joyce, Doug Popovec, and Zach Shaw did the same in the triple jump.
On the girls’ side, the quartet of Ali Popovic, Aiva Reich, Shareen Thangiah, and Rhenna Humphrey was tops with a time of 1:10.0. Slippery Rock’s 4x800 (11:09.7) and 4,200 (1:57.1) relays also came in first, as did the triple jump trio of Samantha Montgomery, Adah Whitesides, and Morgan Huntingdon.
Madison Gearhart, Becca Springirth, Haile Halberg, and Kasey Yaeger were also part of the relay teams.
The Rockets finished first in the team standings with 75 points.
