Dems cut back on Dahlkemper TV ads
HARRISBURG — Democratic strategists in Washington confirmed they cut back on TV advertising for U.S. Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper's re-election campaign in Pennsylvania's northwestern corner.
In a statement Tuesday, Rep. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland, chairman of the House Democrats' campaign committee, said it adjusted its involvement in Pennsylvania's 3rd Congressional District race to match the Republican committee's cuts in TV buys for Mike Kelly, who is challenging Dahlkemper.
A spokesman for the GOP committee, Tory Mazzola, said he could not confirm whether the national party is cutting Kelly's TV time, but noted it just put up a new anti-Dahlkemper ad Monday.
As of June 30, Dahlkemper reported $1 million in her campaign war chest, while Kelly had about $100,000.
Kelly's campaign declined to comment, while Dahlkemper's campaign did not respond.
