A 72-year-old man is accused of assaulting a 4-year-old girl in Slippery Rock Township, according to charges filed by state police Thursday, March 21.

Robert L. McPeak, of Slippery Rock, was charged with felonies child endangerment, corruption of minors, indecent assault and aggravated indecent assault, and misdemeanors indecent assault and indecent exposure.

Police said a ChildLine report filed Feb. 13 indicated a 4-year-old girl disclosed McPeak inappropriately touched her. Two days later, documents showed the child was interviewed at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Butler County.

Police said the child was able to identify where on her body she was touched and where the assault took place in McPeak’s home.

According to documents, other witnesses confirmed the girl was often left in McPeak’s care.

McPeak’s preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
