2 district courts found to be in compliance after state audit
Two Butler County district courts were found to be in compliance after an audit was performed for the period of Jan. 1, 2019, to Dec. 31, 2022, according to documents.
The audit documents released by state Auditor General Timothy L. Defoor indicated district courts 50-3-03 in Saxonburg and 50-03-05 in Butler were in full compliance.
“These compliance audits determine whether all funds that are collected on behalf of the state have been correctly reported and promptly remitted to the appropriate state agency,” Defoor said in a news release Tuesday, March 19.
The summary of monthly transmittal reports as settled by the Department of Revenue amounted to $1,128,663 in Saxonburg’s court and $822,499 in Butler’s court.
Both the Saxonburg and Butler courts owed nothing to the state and no adjustments were listed in their reports.
The Saxonburg court was previously presided over by District Judge Sue Haggerty before her retirement in 2023, and the Butler court is presided over by District Judge William Fullerton.
