Mary Elizabeth Hays, 66, of Chicora died at 1 a.m. Saturday at the Sunnyview Home.

Born March 25, 1941, in Donegal Township, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Mabel A. Rodgers Hays.

Surviving are her longtime companion, Thomas Birckbichler; a son, Howard Barnes of Chicora; a granddaughter, Kylie Barnes; a sister, Helen Hickey of Butler; and three brothers, John Hays of Butler, Carl Hays of East Butler and Donald Hays of Chicora.

She was preceded in death by four brothers.
