MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The five-person Get Fit Families triathlon team, based in Cranberry Township, recently won the Division V title at the USA Triathlon Club National Championships.

Nathaniel Whyte, 15, of Fort Mill, S.C., won his age group for Sprint distance. Scott Baker of Harmony took third place in the 39-and under Clydesdale division for the Sprint triathlon.

Jason Jacobs of Zelienople took fifth in his division and 29th overall for the Long Course Distance event, while Joella Richard Baker of Harmony was 11th in her age division. Both qualified for the 2011 Long Course World Championships.

Lisa Myers of Mars earned team points for her participation and finish in the Long Course Championships.

The Division V team category consisted of teams with 29 or fewer members.

UNIONTOWN — Rob McClellan of Butler Country Club and Ryan Sikora of Pittsburgh Field Club finished second by carding a two-round score of 128 at the Uniontown Country Club Fall Classic Championship Friday.The duo lost by one stroke to Kevin Shields of Sewickley Heights Golf Club and Adam Corson of Dick's Sporting Goods.Dennis Munko of Birdsfoot joined Bernard Hough of Wildwood Golf Club to tie two others for fourth place with a 131.

WOOSTER, Ohio — When The College of Wooster's opponent dropped out of the homecoming game, it just wasn't cricket.But that gave the Fighting Scots an idea.After Earlham withdrew from Saturday's football game because it joined a different conference, Wooster officials huddled to come up with an alternative. They decided on a cricket exhibition.A group of local players who learned the game in their native countries will take on the college's club team.The mayor and the president of the college planned to be there Saturday afternoon for the ceremonial first ball.
