David Stocks

David Elmer Stocks, 70, of Humphrey Road, Slippery Rock, Worth Township, passed away at Autumn Grove, Harrisville, at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Born in Pittsburgh on Nov. 30, 1941, he was the son of Elmer Stocks and Anna May Stocklin. He married Joann Anita Luiere on June 10, 1961.

He worked at North Allegheny Senior High School in the custodial department. He later moved to New Port Richey, Fla., where he owned and operated a landscaping business. He returned to Pennsylvania in 1982 and worked at the North Allegheny School District until his retirement in 2004.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, working on security with Strategic Air Command (SAC).

He enjoyed camping, travelling extensively, working outside, fishing and playing the slot machines.

His survivors include his wife, Joann A. Stocks of Slippery Rock; two daughters, Tiffany R. Stocks of Butler and Danielle A. Stocks of Butler; a sister, Janet and her husband, Ralph, Baker of Zelienople; two grandsons, Marcus and Aaron; a granddaughter, Brittney; a niece; two nephews; and a grand-niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

STOCKS — Funeral services for David Elmer Stocks, who passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, will be private.Memorial contributions may be given to the Slippery Rock Rescue Team, P.O. Box 117 Elm St., Slippery Rock, PA 16057.Arrangements are entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.
