Thelma Hassler

Thelma A. Hood (Mitts) Hassler, 81, of Butler, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot.

Thelma was born in Meadville, Pa., to Marshall Hood and Margaret (Crabb) Hood.

Thelma attended Butler High School and graduated in 1960. She then attended Butler County Community College and Duquesne University. Thelma was a judicial assistant to attorney S. Michael Yeager for many years, director of Pampered Chef and a mother adviser for Butler Rainbow Girls. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she served on several committees. In her later years, Thelma's love and passion was quilting.

Thelma is survived by her three sons, Douglas A. Hassler, Steven B. (Tammy) Hassler and David C. Hassler; and six grandchildren, Ben, Hunter, Jon, Heath, Hannah and Hallee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Margaret Hood.

HASSLER — A visitation for Thelma A. Hood (Mitts) Hassler, who died Sunday, March 10, 2024, will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., Butler, with Pastor David Janz officiating.

A private burial will be held at North Side Cemetery.
