Gertrude Stevenson
Gertrude A. “Trudy” Stevenson, 82, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, March 9, 2024.
Born Oct. 9, 1941, in Wildwood, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Vance A. and Mary Gertrude Pierce.
Gertrude was a homemaker. She was an avid baker who enjoyed decorating cakes and making candy, and she sold her baked goods — known as “Grandma Trudy’s Goodies” — at flea markets. She also enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family.
Gertrude was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
Surviving are her children, Theresa (Jeff) Sequete, Dorothy Sarver, John (Nicole) Stevenson, Vance Stevenson and Pam Wood, all of Butler; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lynn (Jim) Bartholomew of Conneautville, Pa., and Teddy Eichenlaub of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Stevenson Jr., who she married on June 8, 1963, and who passed away on May 4, 2004; and eight brothers and sisters.
STEVENSON — Friends of Gertrude A. “Trudy” Stevenson, who died Saturday, March 9, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2024, at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A blessing service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Butler.
