Carla Redick

Redick

Carla L. Redick, 72, of Butler, died unexpectedly at Butler Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

Carla loved her family fiercely and devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was born on July 5, 1951, in New Martinsville, W.Va., to Anna Gaynell (Cecil) Holt. Carla graduated from Butler High School in 1969 and attended the Median School for dental assisting. She was a dental assistant for 25 years and briefly worked as an electromechanical assembler for John A. Romeo and Associates before retiring to become a grandma. She spent 12 amazing years spoiling her twin grandbabies and fulfilling their every wish.

Carla married the love of her life, Matthew D. Redick, on June 10, 1972, at St. John Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora. They had two wonderful children, followed by two beautiful granddaughters — all of whom meant the world to them. They spent 51 loving years together as husband and wife. They are members of the All Saints Parish in Butler.

Carla will always be remembered for her loving and giving heart, the kindness she extended to everyone and her amazing food. She had a great way of telling a story, which always included a moral with a folksy turn of phrase. We couldn’t have asked for a better wife, mom, grammy and best friend, and we will miss her every day. She has set the perfect example of how to live a Christian life full of love.

Carla is survived by her loving husband, Matthew D. Redick; her son, Xavier Redick; her daughter, Tonya (Redick) Burgess and her husband, Chris; her beautiful twin granddaughters, Melina and Ella Burgess; her niece, Tracy (Rich) Dunton; and her best friend, Debby Solari.

REDICK — Carla L. Redick, who died Tuesday, March 5, 2024, was celebrated in a private family service on Thursday, March 7, 2024, through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
