Alter Eagle host to attend State of the Union as Rep. Kelly’s guest
U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly, R-16th, will attend the State of the Union address on Thursday, March 7, with special guest Laura Crago, digital producer and host of the Butler Eagle's “Alter Eagle” podcast.
In January, Kelly was a guest on the podcast, which is addressing treatments and stigma surrounding addiction in Butler County.
Kelly said in a Tuesday news release that he has known Crago’s family for a number of years and felt her work with the podcast should earn her a place at the State of the Union.
“As a parent of someone who battles addiction, I know firsthand what families nationwide live with and how important it is to address this topic. In Congress, I prioritize mental health legislation because I know how critical this issue really is,” he said. “When I sat down with (Crago) in January to discuss these issues for her new podcast, I knew right away that she deserves to highlight this issue on the national level.”
Crago is a graduate of the Butler Area School District and Clarion University. Her career in performance has taken her from Las Vegas to New York City. In 2019, she started her own podcast in Boston. She returned to Butler in 2022 and started her career with the Eagle in October.
