Richard A. Spryn
Richard A. Spryn, 78, of Fenelton passed away Sunday at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
Born March 15, 1937, in Butler, he was a son of the late Stanley and Susie (Herrock) Spryn.
He was employed as an electrical engineer by AGR in Butler, and he retired in 1999 following 34 years service. He was a Butler High School graduate and also a graduate from the School of Modern Photography and Famous Photographers School.
He was an accomplished photographer, winning several awards in both Pennsylvania and California.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps as a sergeant.
He was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville, Pa. He was an active member of the Bantan Marines. He enjoyed gardening and winemaking and helping others in need.
Surviving is his wife, Judy (Marra) Spryn, who he married April 8, 1961; one son, Richard Anthony Spryn of Wheeling, W.Va.; one daughter, Christina M. (Phillip) Stafford of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; five grandchildren, Blake Spryn of San Francisco, Calif., Brittnee Spryn of Wheeling, W.Va., Martha Tack of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Ethan Tack and Mitchell Tack, both of Kitty Hawk, N.C.; one very special great-grandchild, Baillee Spryn; one sister, Dorothy Marra of Ormond Beach, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Spryn and Stanley Spryn Jr. and one sister, Mary Jane McKnight.
SPRYN — There will be no public visitation for Richard A. Spryn, who died, Sunday, July 12, 2015.A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 821 Herman road, Herman.Inurnment will be private at St. Mary Cemetery in Herman.Arrangements are being handled by Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E.
