Howard 'Spike' Tracey

Howard A. "Spike" Tracey, 78, of Evans City died Thursday evening at his home after an illness.

Born July 17, 1929, in Clinton, Alle-gheny County, he was the son of Franklin and Elizabeth Colbert Tracey.

He retired from the City of Pittsburgh, where he worked in general services. He also had worked for William H. Gantner Roofing in Pittsburgh for years.

During World War II, he served with the Army in the European Occupation.

He is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Grzelka and her husband, Ronald, of Pittsburgh; two sons, James A. Tracey and his wife, Kathleen, of Pittsburgh, and Thomas P. Tracey and his wife, Rachel, of Puyallup, Wash.; four grandchildren, Michelle Rud and her husband, Christopher, and Michael Grzelka, all of Pittsburgh, and Rebecca and Jennifer Tracey, both of Puyallup; and two great-grandsons, Gaige Grzelka and Walker Rud.

Also surviving are two brothers, George E. Tracey of Ingram and Robert Tracey of Belton, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel M. Tracey, who died Oct. 14, 1995; a brother, and six sisters.

<B>TRACEY</B> — Friends of Howard A. "Spike" Tracey, who died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at <B>Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home</B>, 387 Main St., Prospect. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Tracey, his son and pastor of the McKees Rocks Assembly of God, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount.
