Tyler Dean pitched a complete game, holding Saxonburg to just one run on three hits as Mars II claimed a 7-1 win in Game 1 of the best-of-five Eagle County League semifinals on Monday.

Dean struck out three and walked one. He received more than enough offense from Phil Double (a two-run triple), Anthony Sklarsky (two-run double) and Gabe Stephenson (two singles and a double). Mars II plated all of its runs in the first two innings.

Nate Buttenfield took the loss for Saxonburg, striking out five and walking four in seven innings.

Ryan Fennell singled and drove in a run for Saxonburg.

Game 2 is scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight at Callery Field.
