JEFFERSON TWP — Six board members were elected to serve a three-year term at Concordia Lutheran Ministries’ annual meeting in November.

Eighteen board members comprise the governing body and represent 34 Lutheran churches Missouri Synod in Western Pennsylvania.

Installed by the Rev. Jack Hartman, director of chaplaincy services at Concordia, the newly elected members are: Fred Heintz from Bethel Lutheran Church in Glenshaw who retired this year after 12 years with Neighborhood Legal Services in Butler County; Gail Holzer, principal and school administrator of Redeemer Lutheran School and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Oakmont; and the Rev. Douglas Spittel, senior pastor at First Trinity Lutheran Church in Oakland and founder of the Pittsburgh Lutheran Center for the Blind, Pittsburgh Campus Ministries and Augsburg Academy.

Also elected was incumbent the Rev. Jamison Hardy, pastor of Peace Lutheran Church in McMurray, who has served on the board for nine years; Don Olmstead, a member of St. Luke’s Church in Cabot and partner in Venture Engineering & Construction, who served on the board from 2002-2008; and Christie Scott, member of Price of Peace Church in Freedom and care manager and ombudsman with the Beaver County Office on Aging for the last 21 years.
