Ruth E. Romberger

Ruth E. Romberger, 90, of Butler passed away at 2:10 p.m. Saturday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

She was born on Oct. 22, 1923, in Elizabethville to the late Charles W. Lehman and Beulah Kopenhaver Lehman.

For 60 years, she was the loving wife of John Stern Romberger.

Mrs. Romberger was a homemaker and a Lutheran.

She helped raise all of her grandchildren. She was a supporter of the Ned Smith Center For Nature and Art and of causes she believed in. Mrs. Romberger was an avid reader who loved flowers, always had a garden and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mrs. Romberger is survived by her two daughters, Theresa Bartlett and her husband, James E., of Saxonburg and Carolyn Romberger of Butler; her daughter-in-law, Beatrice Romberger of Sayre; her two sons-in-law, Richard Forsythe and Rick Stewart, both of Butler; her six grandchildren, Dr. James E. Bartlett II and his wife, Michelle, of Cary, N.C., Bonnie E. Forsythe of Butler, Jason R.A. Forsythe of Baton Rouge, La., Matthew D. Romberger and his wife, Marsha, of Sayre, John Rufus Romberger and his wife, Britney, of Sayre and Timothy D. Romberger and his wife, Amy, of Sayre; her 21 great-grandchildren; her two brothers, John Lehman of Elizabethville and Walter “Butch” Lehman of Halifax; her two brothers-in-law, Rudolph R. Romberger and Harold Dietrich of Millersburg; her sister-in-law, Esther Deitrich of Millersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Romberger, who she married on Aug. 17, 1940, and who passed away on Aug. 6, 2000; her three daughters, Sara Stewart, Jessica M. Forsythe and an infant daughter; her son, Theodore Romberger; and her three sisters, Alta Esterline, Lena “Blondie” Lehman and Jean Hartman.

Romberger — There will be no public visitation for Ruth E. Romberger, who passed away Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014. Services will be at the convenience of the family at the Greenlawn Burial Estates, 731 Old Route 422 West, Butler, with the Pastor Jeff MacKay officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to With Humble Hearts, C/O 4-Most Group Inc., 267 Pittsburgh Road, Suite 4, Butler, PA 16002 or at its website www.withhumblehearts.org.Arrangements are by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
