SAXONBURG — Eight bands will be performing in the Rock at Knoch battle of the bands Friday at Knoch High School.The bands include two returning winners — CORE of Natrona Heights and Bombing Jupiter of Saxonburg — as well as the bands Indecent Exposure, Sunshine Grind, Skeeter John, These Three Words, Ozone Itch and Back to the Good Stuff.Doors will open at 5 p.m., with music starting at 5:30 p.m.Admission is $5 at the door, and concessions will be available. The winner will be decided by tallying the voting tickets, available for $1 each, cast for each band.

GROVE CITY — The 2009-10 Grove City College Guest Artist Series features three performances, beginning with Canadian musical group, the Leahy Family, on Monday.All events begin at 7:30 p.m. in Ketler Auditorium of the Pew Fine Arts Center.Leahy is a Canadian group of eight musical brothers and sisters who have been playing a blend of musical styles and genres their entire lives.Playing Dec. 8 will be the Turtle Island Quartet, a group providing a fusion of jazz and chamber music.The Pittsburgh Symphony Chamber Orchestra rounds out the series with a concert on March 24.Tickets are $10 per performance. SHARON — Penn State University's Shenango campus is hosting a Piscataway Indian Nation performance on Friday.The group was formed more than 30 years ago and is renowned for its living-history program.The performance will feature authentic theatrical song, dance and drum acts that focus on educating audiences about the culture, history and present-day issues of Native Americans. The Piscataway Indian Nation has performed all over the world and appeared in movies such as "Dances with Wolves."The Friday performance will take place at 6 p.m. at the Penn State Shenango auditorium, 147 Shenango Ave. Admission is free.
