R. William 'Bill' Geyer
R. William “Bill” Geyer, 83, of Mars died Sunday afternoon in the comfort of his home with his family at his side.
Born in Adams Township on Sept. 28, 1928, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Ethel Cashdollar Geyer.
Bill was a local businessman and carpenter.
He was a member of the Valencia United Methodist Church, a social member of the Mars VFW Post 7505, and a life member of the Valencia Volunteer Fire Company.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Bill was a member of the Mars Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed carpentry, but most important to him was his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Surviving are his wife, Doris Miller Geyer, who he married on July 23, 1955; two sons, Robert Geyer and his wife, Kimberly, and David Geyer and his wife, Patricia, both of Valencia; his grandchildren, Ashley, Raeline, Haley and Seth; two sisters, Dorothy Purvis and Joan Stewart, both of Mars; a sister-in-law, Edna Miller of Valencia; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Truver, and a brother, George Geyer.
GEYER — Friends of R. William “Bill” Geyer, who died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, will be received at the
McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Mars United Methodist Church, 525 Pittsburgh St., Mars. The Rev. Robert Martin, pastor of the Valencia United Methodist Church, will officiate. Please meet at the church. Burial will be in Mt.
