The Butler County Symphony Orchestra closes its 62nd season with a concert at 7:30 p.m. April 16 in the Butler Intermediate High School auditorium.

The theme for the season has been “Images,” and this final concert focuses on “Space.”

The Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh will present a slide show, and the Girls Ensemble from Butler Senior High will add vocals.

Another feature of the program is the premier performance of a composition by Leon Steward of Castroville, Texas, the winner of the symphony's composer competition. He composed “The Fermi Paradox.”

Two libraries will host book signings.G.C. Wakefield of Slippery Rock will be at the Butler Public Library, 218 N. McKean St., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 9 to discuss his debut novel and to sign copies. “The Gestapo Hunters” is a fictionalized retelling of events that occurred during World War II when the Danish Resistance and the Royal Air Force battled Nazi Germany. FOXBURG — Allegheny RiverStone Center for the Arts' Classical Concert Series debuts with a concert by the Pittsburgh Symphony Chamber Players at 6:30 p.m. April 10 in Lincoln Hall, 42 S.
