James L. Bauer
James L. Bauer, 72, of Butler passed away Thursday evening at Butler Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 28, 1943, in Butler, and was a son of Christine G. Trofimuk Bauer of Cabot and the late Harold W. Bauer.
A veteran, he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
James was an electrician employed by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 5.
He was an avid bowler and golfer, and he extremely enjoyed fishing. He was a computer enthusiast. He also loved his dog, Eddie.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sarah E. “Sally” Borden Bauer; three sons, Michael J. Bauer and his wife, Gay, of Butler, Robert J. Bauer and his wife, Rose, of China Grove, N.C., and James L. Bauer Jr. and his wife, Sandy, of Alexandria, Va.; one daughter, Nicole L. Griffin and her boyfriend, Kurt Schumhl, of Moyock, N.C.; his mother; one brother, Harold Bauer of Butler; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
BAUER — There will be no visitation for James L. Bauer, who died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Feb. 6 at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 North Main St. Extension, Butler, with the Rev. Nicholas J.
