Rock men improve chances for home playoff game with 77-55 win over Seton Hill
The Slippery Rock University men’s basketball team was ahead for over 37 minutes at home against Seton Hill Saturday night, earning a 77-55 victory over Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West foe Seton Hill.
Ike Herster and Jomo Goings collaborated for 40 points, shooting 14-of-23 combined. Herster had 21 points, including three treys.
The triumph puts the Rock (11-10, 9-6) ahead of the Griffins and Mercyhurst by two games for fourth place in the division standings. The top six teams in each grouping make the conference tournament, with the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds hosting opening-round games.
Seton Hill 72, SRU (women) 52 — Freshman Regan Atkins matched a career-best with 23 points and the Rock led at halftime, but the visiting Griffins shot 50% in the latter half Saturday night. Deryn Moye had 11 points and a team-high four assists in the defeat.
SRU dropped to 2-16 on the season, including a 2-13 mark in PSAC play.
