NEW CASTLE — State police say two suspects were arrested after a standoff that followed a home invasion in which two men were shot and a third person was pistol-whipped.

Police said a 3-year-old child and a 5-month-old infant were in the home during the standoff, but neither was injured.

Police in Lawrence County say two men forced their way into the New Castle apartment at about 10 p.m. Friday. Police said 20-year-old Brent Bissett and 18-year-old Corey Coblentz of New Castle were shot multiple times and were listed in critical condition at UPMC Presbyterian.

Lt. Eric Hermick said he believes the two were looking for someone in another apartment.

The suspects surrendered after a 2Z\x-hour standoff. Police said they face charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault.
