ERIE — The widow of a high school wrestling coach said her husband died because an Erie hospital ran out of blood while treating him after a motorcycle crash.

Josephine Heynoski sued Hamot Medical Center on Monday saying the hospital had only 16 units of blood on hand when John Heynoski, 46, died of pelvic bleeding after the crash on July 24, 2008.

Doctors wanted to operate on Heynoski in Erie, but decided to transfer him to a Pittsburgh hospital because a radiologist wasn't comfortable working on pelvic injuries. The lawsuit contends Heynoski died while waiting for a medical helicopter after the hospital ran out of blood.

Hamot spokeswoman Lucia Conti said the hospital has not received the lawsuit.

Heynoski coached wrestling at Erie McDowell High School.

DOYLESTOWN — The Philadelphia woman accused of offering an undercover police officer sexual favors in return for World Series tickets is set to go on trial.Jury selection was scheduled to begin this morning in Bucks County Court in the prostitution trial of Susan Finkelstein. Prosecutors say she posted a Craigslist ad in October describing herself as a buxom blonde in desperate need of tickets for the Phillies-Yankees World Series.Police say her posting went on to say the price was negotiable and she was "the creative type." Bensalem police allege Finkelstein sent sexually explicit photos and made graphic suggestions when she met the officer at a bar.Finkelstein denies the charges and said she was merely being creative in her attempt to take her husband to a game.

BLAIRSVILLE — A police officer is on administrative leave after she pulled her gun on a man who came to the police station to make a complaint.Blairsville police on Tuesday said Officer Janelle Lydic was placed on leave pending an investigation. Authorities say she drew her weapon and ordered Christopher Hall, 19, to the ground after he came to make a complaint against his landlord March 11.Investigators say Hall became unruly and knocked off Lydic's glasses when she tried to escort him from the station.Police say Hall suffered a head injury in the struggle. He's facing charges including aggravated assault, harassment and resisting arrest.Hall's attorney said his client is innocent.
