Rockets’ Book goes off in road win

Slippery Rock’s Josh Book had 33 points and 16 rebounds Friday night as the Rockets got past Greenville, 62-56, on the road. Levi Prementine helped out with 19 points and 10 steals, and Anderson Franco had seven points.

Karns City 64, A-C Valley 33 — Jacob Callihan had a game-high 18 points and added eight rebounds and three steals as the Gremlins (10-4) won at home. Taite Beighley (14 points), Shane Peters (13), and Hobie Bartoe (11) also poured in double figures.

Jay Clover had 10 points for the Falcons and Henry Stevanus chipped in with nine.

Moniteau 78, Forest 24 — The Warriors’ offensive barrage was paced by Dawson Cook’s 17 points. Chason Rugg added 11, and Moniteau led by 38 at the midway point.

Freeport 61, Knoch 55 — The Yellowjackets led after each quarter in this road win. Brady Sullivan bucketed 20 points for Freeport (5-11, 2-4), while Knoch (11-7, 4-3) was led by Jackson Bauman’s 17.

Lincoln Park 95, North Catholic 77 — The Trojans (10-6, 6-2) were ahead by a point after the first frame of this pivotal WPIAL Section 2-4A tilt, but fell behind in the following one. Max Hurray’s 25-point effort was for naught. He had four three-pointers, while Jude Rottmann added 14 points and Brady Koziara 11.

Brandon Cummings and Meleek Thomas each had 27 points for the Leopards.

North Hills 64, Mars 57 — Ryan Ceh had 24 points for the Planets (9-8, 3-3), who dropped this WPIAL Section 4-5A matchup on the road.

Aquinas Academy 64, Summit Academy 48 — The Knights trailed their visitors, 35-33, at halftime but ran out of steam in the final 16 minutes. Abdulah Abdirahman had 17 points for Summit Academy, while Austin Hindman added another 11.

Girls Basketball

Behind 15-point performances by freshman Brady Wehner and Lauren Mihm, North Catholic remained undefeated in WPIAL Section 1-4A by downing Derry, 69-12, at home Friday night.

Alayna Rocco had 14 points and four treys for the Trojanettes (11-5, 9-0), who won their 100th consecutive conference contest in the process.
