Esther P. Raith
Esther P. Raith, 86, of Sarver passed away Saturday at the Alle-Kiski Medical Center.
Born March 1, 1926, in Marwood, she was the daughter of Victor and Claire Craig Sasse.
Esther worked as a picker for Moonlight Mushrooms and also in the kitchen at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cabot. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are three sons, Joseph K. Raith of Sarver, Dean (Rose) Raith of Butler and Gerald (Charlotte) Raith of Saxonburg; one grandson, Joseph Daniel Raith; one granddaughter, Beth (Joe) Bowser; three brothers, Martin Sasse of Pensacola, Fla., Edward Sasse of Tennessee and Ronald “Butch” Sasse of Florida; and two sisters, Lois of Butler and Betty Lefevre of Saxonburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph H. Raith, who died Oct. 10, 2008; two brothers, Victor and Donald; two sisters, Vicki Sasse and Ardell Shuler; and one granddaughter, Ashley.
