Bernice H. Nicklas, 87, of Conneaut Lake, formerly of Harmony, died Sunday at UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh.

Born in Harmony, Oct. 6, 1920, she was a daughter of John E. and Josephine Shantz Heberling.

She was a homemaker and caregiver.

Mrs. Nicklas was a member of the Fifth Street Presbyterian Church of Conneaut Lake and a former member of the Grace Reformed Church, Harmony.

Her husband, Joseph Carl Nicklas, whom she married June 18, 1938, died Aug. 3, 1984.

Survivors include a son, John Nicklas and his wife, Susan, of Conneaut Lake; a grandson, Scott Nicklas and his wife, Lynn, of Englewood, Fla., and cousins.

Nicklas, who died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Waid-Coleman Funeral Home</B>, 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Hydie Houston, pastor of the North Sandy United Presbyterian Church, officiating.
