I know how much F.D.R. helped this country , with the great depression . I learned it in History class , well the nuns explain , what kind of shape . That Pres Hoover left this country . When F.D.R. took office . Also how Hoover said that there would be a chicken in every pot ?

My grandmother had a picture of F.D.R. in her house . She had showed me it & explain that all the families had it , then !

I have that photo , I made sure to get it , because I knew how much it ment !

Also you need to take the time to learn of the Civilian Conservation Corps 1933-1942 . They took son's & ones that was 18 or older . Gave them jobs building things like Roads , State Parks , like the one in Butler that has a Mill .

My 2 uncles worked for it in another area . They got $21 a month , they sent most of it home .

Also the Works Progress Administration 1935 to 1943. If you ever drive up to the Amercan Legion 778 , Lyndora Post .Going up you will pass a stone wall that help holds the lawns up & separated it from the road . This was just 1 of the things they did here !

When they came home , my father could not get a work . His brothers : said they was joining the Pa. National gaurds . My dad joined , He was only 16 . But like other wanted to be in them so he could help the family .

In the Pa gaurds they got $21 a month . They sent most of it home . Then after Dec 7 , they was told they was in the Army ! That was the day Pearl Harbor was bombed !
