Hazel Lucille Bowser
Hazel Lucille Bowser, 89, of the Chicora Medical Center, formerly of Bruin, passed away at the center at 8:30 p.m. Friday following an illness.
She was born in Sherett, Washington Township, Armstrong County, Nov. 20, 1920, and she was a daughter of the late William Valentine Ridley and Annie May Rickel Ridley.
She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, Chicora Congregation.
She enjoyed being a homemaker, baking bread, sewing and discussing her Bible-based beliefs with friends and neighbors.
She attended the Sherett school.
She married George Grant Bowser in 1938 at Sherett, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 1980.
Surviving are four sons, George Willard Bowser and his wife, Betty, of Bruin, Chester W. Bowser and his wife, Barbara, of Ridgeville, Roy A. Bowser of Bruin and Richard Allan Bowser and his wife, Sharon, of Bruin; a daughter, Sarah Jeannette Baucom and her husband, James, of Parker; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harry W. Ridley and his wife, Jean, of Richmond, Ky., and Herman Ridley of Indiana, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter and one sister.
