The following events are scheduled in the coming weeks for Moraine State Park:

A winter hike is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15. This hike starts from the bike rental lot at the North Country Trailhead, on a 3-mile trail that goes south to the McDanel’s area and provides views of Lake Arthur. The park advises hikers to bring their own water and snacks.

Moraine will be the site of a Ground Hog Hike from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 2. The hike will begin at the Pleasant Valley Picnic Area and will take hikers through a 2-mile trail rated easy to moderate. The park advises hikers to bring their own water and snacks.

Moraine State Park’s annual Winterfest will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 3 at the McDanel’s boat launch area on the North Shore. Winterfest will feature a photo contest, guided hikes, live music, horse-drawn wagon rides, disc golf, and food and craft vendors. Entrance is free.
