Butler County experienced a mix of sleet, snow and rain over the span of a few hours Tuesday morning, Jan. 9, but officials reported the weather conditions would not last long.

Parts of Butler County saw snow beginning to fall around 5:30 a.m., during the morning it would accumulate to more than two inches in some communities, according to meteorologist Matt Brudy from the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh.

“One report from West Sunbury said two and a quarter inches,” he said.

The snow mixed with rain around 7 a.m., he added, and then transitioned to only rain about a half hour later.
