Shay

Dorothy Lucille Shay, 80, of McNaughton Road, Rimer-sburg died at 12:40 p.m. Wedn-esday at the Clarion Hospital after a two-day illness.

Born in Fairview Township, April 12, 1926, she was a daughter of John Clyde Sr. and Lovy Stella Best Pennington.

She was a Protestant and had attended the Eldorado Elementary School near Parker.

Mrs. Shay enjoyed her family, puzzle books, soap operas and TV game shows.

Surviving are five sons, Barry C. Shay of Eau Claire, David E. Shay of Knox, Dennis L. Shay and his wife, Tammy, and twins Darrell L. and William M. Shay and his wife, Amy, all of Clarion; a daughter, Shirley J. Fleeger and her husband, Richard L., of Butler; 23 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She also is survived by two brothers, Melvin Pennington and his wife, Susan of Palmyra and James Pennington and his wife, Rebecca, of Volant; a sister, Mrs. Betty L. Holliday of Parker; a stepbrother, James Adams and his wife, Joan, of Johnstown; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Robert Merle Shay, whom she married Jan. 17, 1946, in Dutch Hill, died Dec. 6, 1996. She also was preceded in death by a son, Barry's twin, Larry R. Shay, who died Nov. 6, 1979; a grandson, Jason Shay; a brother, John C. Pennington Jr.; and two sisters, Louise Myers and Erma Polansky.

<B>SHAY</B> — Friends of Dorothy Lucille Shay, who died Wednesday, March 21, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the <B>Richard d. Hillis funeral home</B>, 758 Main St., Rimersburg. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Guntrum, pastor of the Carwick Wesleyan Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Conneration.
