Rook

Dorothy J. Rook, 90, of Butler died Wednesday evening at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Butler, May 28, 1920, a daughter of the late George and Lola Woodworth Faber.

Dorothy had been employed for 25 years as a salesperson at the former Troutman's department store that had been in downtown Butler.

A member of the Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church for more than 16 years, she also had been a volunteer with the Foster Grandparents program of the American Red Cross of Southwestern Pennsylvania.

She was the widow of Raymond P. "Bud" Rook. They were married from Aug. 29, 1942, until his death on Feb. 22, 1975. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Delores Trofimuk.

Surviving are a son, John "Jack" Rook and his wife, Marlene, of Naples, Fla.; a daughter, Jill Ann Hanford, and her husband, Darryl, of Butler; five grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
