HERMITAGE — A foursome representing Cranberry Highlands Golf Course took first place at a tournament held at Tam O'Shanter on Friday.

The team, comprised of professional Shawn McCall and amateurs Mike Schwesinger, Frank Presto and Anthony Vincent, shot a 128 (68-60) in the best-two-balls-of-four format.

A team from St. Jude Golf Club tied for second with a score of 130 (66-64). It included pro Dennis Dolci as well as amateurs Bob Miles, Michael Namey and George Becker.

BLOOMSBURG — Slippery Rock University's Stephanie Case won the 10,000-meter run Thursday at the PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.Her winning time was 36 minutes, 22.76 seconds. The win marked her first PSAC title.

PITTSBURGH — Point Park University senior and Knoch graduate Zoe Hughes has been named first team academic all-district in women's softball.A center fielder for the Pioneers, Hughes hit .279 this year with five outfield assists. She is carrying a 3.6 grade point average as an Intelligence & National Security major.
