• BC3's Mary Hulton Phillips Gallery hosts a photography show by BC3 student Brian Owen through March 31. An opening reception is planned for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the gallery. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the artist and view the show. Light refreshments will be available. The gallery is in the Science, Technology and Cultural Center Building adjacent to the Succop Theater. The gallery is open during Succop Theater performances. • The Performing Arts Series at BC3 will feature “Rach and Role”on March 26 and “Second to None” on May 21, both by the Pittsburgh Philharmonic.

All shows are in the Succop Theater on campus.

Slippery Rock University

• The SRU music department's eighth annual Dwight and Jeane Baker Memorial Scholarship Concert will include the premiere of a work by Stephen Barr, SRU assistant professor of music.

This Confluence concert, presented by the Slippery Rock Piano Trio, is at 7:30 p.m. March 20 in Swope Music Hall.

The trio includes SRU music faculty Warren Davidson, assistant professor, on violin; Paige Riggs, instructor, on cello; and Nanette Kaplan Solomon, professor, on piano.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students.

• Still to come in the SRU Performing Arts Series is “From Galway to Broadway” at 7:30 p.m. March 18 in Miller Auditorium.

Dublin-born tenor Ciaran Sheehan, who has appeared in “Phantom of the Opera,” “Les Miserables”and multiple PBS Irish specials, will present music from Ireland and Broadway.

The show will also feature, among others, the SRU Concert Choir and Irish harpist Eily O'Grady Patterson who has performed with the Boston Pops and on the BBC, London and Irish television. Tickets are $22 for adults, $20 for senior citizens and youths ages 13 to 17, $15 for children 12 and younger, and $8 for SRU students.

Grove City College Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Concert Band presents the first of two spring concerts at 8 p.m. Friday in Ketler Auditorium of the Pew Fine Arts Center. The performance is free.
