Muddy Creek’s 2024 budget sees no tax increase
Muddy Creek Township approved its 2024 budget with no tax hike in December.
The balanced budget of $1,683,467 saw road maintenance costs in the lead as the highest expense.
Public works expenses — which include the costs related to road maintenance and projects — stand at $714,935, 13% higher than they were in the 2023 budget.
The increase is due mainly to the rising cost of materials, township secretary Abbie Flinner said.
Going into the New Year, the township plans to apply a double-seal treatment on Sawyer Road; single-seal treatment on Guillard, Pfeifer, Bauder School and the upper end of Stanford roads; and a surface treatment on Walker Road, Flinner said.
The projects will be bid out in February and awarded in March.
