Darrell

William R. "Bill" Darrell Sr., 69, of Mars died unexpectedly Wedn-esday evening at UPMC Passavant hospital, Cranberry Township.

Born in Pittsburgh, Sept. 9, 1937, he was the son of the late William Richard and Harriett Darrell.

He was a truck driver at Carnegie Tar Asphalt in Oakmont.

Mr. Darrell was an avid gardener, hunter, fisherman and raised quail.

He was a Lutheran.

Surviving are his wife, Doris Simpson Darrell, whom he married July 1, 1955; three daughters, Lynda Kerry of Butler, Mrs. Robert (Pam) Kalisek of Penn Township and Mrs. Dale (Cindy) Schroder of Valencia; five sons, William Darrell of Phoenix, Ariz., Terry Darrell (Kathy) of South Carolina, Doug and Jeff Darrell, both of Mars, and Michael Darrell (Kim) of Butler. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, a great-grandson and a godson.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John Darrell.
