Julie and Chris Hertz

Julie Heitzer and Chris Hertz, both of Pittsburgh, were united in marriage Aug. 7 at St. Paul Cathedral in Pittsburgh. The Rev. Donald Breier officiated. A reception followed at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall in Pittsburgh.

The bride is the daughter of Ray and Doreen Heitzer of Butler. Parents of the bridegroom are Bob and Carol Hertz of Pittsburgh.

The matrons of honor were Jessica Weisbrot of Philadelphia and Samantha Magee of Mebane, N.C. Bridesmaids included Correy Grenci of Butler, Crystal Jacobson of Carlstadt, N.J., Leigh Edleman of Allison Park, Angela Hertz of Pittsburgh and Gabby DePasquale of Pittsburgh.

Performing the duties of best men were Fred Castro of McAllen, Texas, and Liam Griffin of Brooklyn, N.Y. Groomsmen were Bobby DePasquale of Cranberry Township, Mackie Feierstein of Weston, Fla., Patrick Hugar of Robinson Township, William Mulkerin of Pittsburgh and Eric Krauza of Coraopolis. Ushers included Kyle DePasquale of Pittsburgh, Greg Edleman of Allison Park and Robert Tallerico of Pittsburgh.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Butler High School and a 2004 graduate of Penn State University. She received a master’s degree from Duquesne University in 2009. She is employed by Shady Side Academy in Pittsburgh.

The bridegroom graduated in 1993 from Central Catholic High School and in 1997 from the College of Wooster. He received a master’s degree in 1999 from the University of Stirling in Scotland. He is employed by Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

Following a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, the couple is making their home in Pittsburgh.
