Sankey guides Moniteau past KC
Kendall Sankey had a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double and Catherine Kelly contributed another 13 poitns as Moniteau downed rival Karns City at home Thursday night. Chloe Fritch had 13 points for the Gremlins in the girls basketball defeat.

Knoch 50, Winchester Thurston 18 — Behind Adah Fuller’s game-high 15 points, the Knights snapped a two-game skid at home Thursday night. Knoch (3-4) led by 24 at the midway point and will host Slippery Rock in a non-section clash Thursday night. That will be the first half of a doubleheader, with the Knights’ boys hosting North Catholic after.
Freeport 58, Apollo-Ridge 28 — Jaden Gaillot bucketed 16 points and Brooke Kmetz added another dozen as the Yellowjackets improved to 3-5 at home Wednesday night.
Boys Basketball
Josh Book poured in 25 points and 13 rebounds as Slippery Rock downed Sharpsville, 50-22, Thursday night. Levi Prementine added a dozen points and played a big role on the defensive end, swiping nine steals.
Bowling
Both Freeport teams swept St. Joseph’s, 7-0, Thursday. The Yellowjacket girls were led by Kylie McConahy, who rolled a 565 series and a high game of 206. Mackensie Livingston had a high game of 203 and rolled a 533 series.
On the boys side, Colin Cummings rolled a 608 series and a 210 high game. Dylan Granata had a 515 series and a 185 high game.
Butler (girls) 7, Blackhawk 0 — The Golden Tornado moved to 5-0 as Makenzie Zimmerman turned in a 588 series and high game of 232 at Beaver Falls’ Sims Lanes. Kelsee McConnell added a 580 series and high game of 202. Kaylee Kniess had a 199 game.
Blackhawk 7, Butler (boys) 0 — Greg Wilbert led the Golden Tornado (3-2) with a 598 series and high game of 224. Colin Dorcy added a 572 series and high game of 222. Micah Potts rolled a 564 series and high game of 201.
