Sylvia W. Rabenstein
Sylvia W. Rabenstein, 85, of Mars died Sunday afternoon at UPMC Passavant Hospital, North Hills.
Born Dec. 30, 1930, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Wanda Lipinski.
Sylvia was a member of St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Mars.
She volunteered at the Mars Public Library and for the Southern Butler Community Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed helping Judy, the owner, of the Bargain Bin in Mars. Sylvia enjoyed ceramics.
Surviving are two sons, Joseph E. Rabenstein and Timothy R. Rabenstein and his companion, Melissa Foley, both of Mars; her daughter, Cindy A. Young of Valencia; four brothers, Anthony (Bonnie) Lipinski and Francis Lipinski, both of Pittsburgh, Raymond Lipinski and Robert (Sue) Lipinski, both of Valencia; five grandchildren, Cory J. Swanberg, Megan S. Rabenstein, Jennifer L. Young, Michele N. Young and Michael L. Young; one great-grandson, Alecks J. Morales; and Janet Passoth of North Hills and Eric Young of Valencia.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert J. Rabenstein.
RABENSTEIN — Friends of Sylvia W. Rabenstein, who died Sunday, July 10, 2016, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. A memorial celebration of life will follow at 8 p.m. for family and friends to share memories and stories of Sylvia.A blessing service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Chapel of the Mausoleum at Allegheny County Memorial Park Cemetery, 1600 Duncan Ave., Allison Park, Pa., with the Rev.
