Decrease the odds of getting virus
Politics and debate aside; when it comes to wearing a mask, it’s all about the numbers.
As a CPA and someone who makes decisions based on black and white numbers, it’s always important to follow the figures and act accordingly.
We’ve all watched the news and understand that the pandemic is a grave time in our lives.
As the number of COVID-19 cases increase in Butler County and the ICU available capacity decreases, we have to make decisions that reduce our chances of getting the virus and giving it to our loved ones who may be more susceptible to being seriously impacted.
Wearing a mask is a proven way to lower the risk of getting sick, and when worn in conjunction with others wearing their masks, it has a compounding effect to reduce the spread of the virus.
I recently had a close call when I met with an individual in my office and we both were wearing our masks. He later informed me that he tested positive for the virus two days later.
Because of our adherence to wearing masks, I didn’t contract the virus and my wife and my 6-month-old son were not impacted.
It just becomes a matter of clear-cut probability and doing what it takes to decrease our odds of getting the virus so that we can protect ourselves and those around us.
