Joan A. Bricker, 79, of Winfield Township, passed away at 9:50 a.m. Sunday surrounded by family members at Butler County Memorial Hospital.

Joan was born on Long Island, N.Y., on Oct. 22, 1931, a daughter of Herman A. and Bertha M. (Bennett) Stumme, who are deceased.

She worshipped at Slate Lick United Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Presbyterian Women's Circle and the head of the church library.

Joan was a homemaker who loved to go square dancing and camping with her husband. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and needle work. Joan loved to travel to Long Island to visit her family.

Joan is survived by her husband of 54 years, Donald E. Bricker; two daughters, Cynthia L. Bricker of Natrona Heights, and Deborah Frantz and her husband James H., of South Buffalo Township; and on Long Island, two sisters, Shirl Phillips, and Marjorie Squires and her husband Theodore, and a brother, Ronald Stumme.

Joan also is survived by her mother-in-law, Margaret Bricker of Winfield Township; three grandchildren, Jason Frantz and his wife Kara, and Eric Frantz and Kimberly Frantz; and three great-grandchildren, Lilia, Andrew and Benjamin Frantz.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Bud Stumme and Richard Stumme.

Bricker, who died Sunday, April 3, 2011, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, INC.</B>, 524 High St. Freeport.Visitation continues from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Slate Lick United Presbyterian Church, followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service, with the Rev.
