Vada G. “Biddy” McGinnis

Vada G. “Biddy” McGinnis, 99, of Meadow Lake Manor in Worthington, formerly of Chicora and Karns City, passed away Saturday.

Mrs. McGinnis was born Nov. 24, 1916, in Chicora. She was the daughter of Joseph F. and Hattie M. Huselton Trisko. She was a graduate of Chicora High School.

Vada worked for the Ben Franklin Store, Western Auto and Waltman's Dry Good Store in Chicora. She was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora. Previously, she had been a member of the Bruin Bowling League and the Sewing Circle at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Vada married George B. McGinnis in Chicora on Aug. 20, 1938. He preceded her in death Dec. 25, 1985.

Vada is survived by her daughter, Georgie Nolan and her husband, Tom, of Chicora; her son, George “Toby” McGinnis and his wife, Nancy, of Kearseyville, W.Va.; three granddaughters, Janet Parker and her husband, Richard, of Petrolia, Debbie Bell and Patty McGinnis; three grandsons, Henry Nolan and his wife, Jennifer, of Butler, Fred Cypher and Greg McGinnis.

Also surviving are two step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is her cousin, Darlene Gray of Birch Run, Mich.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers.

MCGINNIS — Friends of Vada G. “Biddy” McGinnis, who died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St. Karns City.A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Joseph Boomhower, pastor of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery.Memorial contributions in Mrs. McGinnis's name may be made to Lana's Spirit, C/O Roxanne Yoho, 257 Euclid Road, Butler, PA 16001.
