Passavant director receives award
ZELIENOPLE — Laura Roy, executive director of Passavant Community, has been selected to receive LeadingAge PA’s Distinguished Service Award for 2017 Leader of the Year.
The award recognizes individuals who “demonstrate excellence in management, governance and accountability, are pro-active in quality of care to residents and play a pivotal role in overall operations leading to organizational success,” according to a news release.
“I am very humbled to be receiving this award,” Roy said in the release. “It is a reflection of the phenomenal people that I get to work with every day. I am blessed to have the incredible privilege to work with some of the best. But it is the residents that make this job so worthwhile.”
Laura will receive her award at CONNECT17, LeadingAge PA’s annual conference, in Hershey on June 21 to 23.
“At Lutheran SeniorLife, we know Laura for her many accomplishments at Passavant Community, for which we are grateful,” said David Fenoglietto, president and CEO of Lutheran SeniorLife, in the release.
Throughout her service, Roy “has enhanced Lutheran SeniorLife’s mission through her involvement, innovation, leadership and advocacy.”
She recently served as board president of the former Pennsylvania Culture Change Coalition, where she led the board on a new path to rebrand the statewide association, arriving at its new name, VOICE! in Pennsylvania. VOICE! stands for Voice Of Inspired Change for Elders.
LeadingAge PA is a trade association representing Pennsylvania not-for-profit organizations that provide housing, health care and community services primarily to the elderly.
It was established to provide education and a voice of advocacy for nonprofit long term care providers.
