KC girls run away from Cranberry
Brooklynn Taylor scored 10 of her 15 points in the third quarter as Karns City’s girls basketball team ran away from Cranberry, 54-24, Tuesday night in the Gremlins gym.
Naomi Venesky scored 10 points and nine different players scored for KC. The Gremlins had a 27-12 lead at halftime.

Anderson Franco scored 18 points, including four treys, as Slippery Rock scored a 58-51 road victory at Ellwood City.
Josh Book added 17 points and six rebounds for the Rockets while Levi Prementine tallied 16 points, six rebounds and five steals. Joseph Roth led Ellwood City with 34 points.
The Rockets led by a single point after three quarters before scoring 23 in the fourth.

Mars split its season-opening meet with Shaler, the girls winning, 80-73, and the boys dropping a 78-64 decision.
The Planets’ girl;s distance medley relay team of Connelly, Symchak, Wilson and Maloney snagged a WPIAL cut. Preston Heynes made the WPIAL cut in the 500-yard freestyle.
