GROVE CITY — Grove City College senior defensive back Chris Gibbs has been named first team Division III Academic All-America.

Gibbs started all four seasons in the Wolverines’ secondary and recorded 8-0 tackles in nine games as a strong safety this year. He also forced three fumbles.

Gibbs has a 3.93 grade point average as a biology major and spent 10 weeks working in genomic research at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., last summer.
