Mary Louise 'Merchie' Pensy

Mary Louise “Merchie” Pensy, 73, of West Sunbury passed away at 1 p.m. Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

Mary was born on Sept. 8, 1941, in Norvelt. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence A. “Happy” Ondrizek and Evelyn Louise Bridge Ondrizek.

She was a member of the St. Alphonsus Parish, West Sunbury, having attended the St. Louis Catholic Church, West Sunbury.

Mary enjoyed her garden, flowers and sewing. Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Anthony Pensy; her daughter, Kathleen Marie Brzezicki of Maryland; her three sons, John Randall Pensy of Florida and Chad Joseph Pensy and Raymond Anthony Pensy, both of Maryland; and her seven grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Ronald Ondrizek of Allison Park.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her five sisters, Kathleen Myers, Dolores Walowen, Elaine Malnofski, Evelyn Livengood and Geraldine Stohl; her four brothers, Lawrence, Charles, Regis and Raymond; and one grandchild.

Pensy— The friends of Mary Louise “Merchie” Pensy, who passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Louis Catholic Church, West Sunbury, with the Father James Bedillion of the St. Alphonsus Parish officiating.
