Grace E. Burkett, 85, of Karns City passed away at 9:01 a.m. Tuesday at the Chicora Medical Center.

Grace was born on Oct. 10, 1928, in Pittsburgh. She was the daughter of the late Alfred L. Patterson and the late Laura Ellen Chess Patterson.

She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.

She had been employed as a salesperson for the Sprint Telephone Co. for 33 years. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge 19.

Grace is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis “Ike” Burkett; her five sisters and her brother.

Burkett — The friends of Grace E. Burkett, who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, will be received at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday. The funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Sandy Towberman and the Rev. Carl Hendrickson officiating.Burial will be in Concord Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Blind Association.
