DA: Ex-coach accused of contacting victim
MCCANDLESS — Prosecutors are moving to revoke the bail of a former Pine-Richland High School basketball coach who allegedly had sex with a 16-year-old female player.
The Allegheny County District Attorney’s office filed a motion Thursday saying 33-year-old Cliff Foster contacted the victim after he was barred from doing so. The motion says Foster and his sister contacted the victim repeatedly between Nov. 26 and Jan. 4.
Foster is a Knoch High School graduate.
Prosecutors say Foster’s sister asked the girl how she was doing and implied that Foster wanted to speak with her. The motion says that the teen was called by Foster on his sister’s phone.
The former Pine-Richland coach is charged with institutional sexual assault.
Foster’s attorney says he’s aware of the motion, but hasn’t had a chance to review it and isn’t commenting.
Foster played on the basketball team at Knoch, and was the team’s point guard in the 1999-2000 season.
He was hired as girl’s basketball coach at Pine-Richland before the 2012-2013 season.
