Winifred May McGarrah
Winifred May McGarrah, 90, of Butler passed away at 6:14 p.m. Saturday at her home.
She was born May 15, 1923, in Butler to the late Francis Edgar Noel and Stella (Steinheiser) Noel.
Winifred was a 1941 graduate from Butler High School.
Winifred was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where she served as a telegrapher during World War II.
Winifred worked at Bantam Jeep, the VA Hospital, Singer Sewing, G.C. Murphy and Ames, where she retired as a bookkeeper in 1988.
She was a Protestant. Winifred enjoyed doing puzzles, watching golf, old movies and sewing.
Winifred is survived by her two sons, Mark McGarrah and his wife, Beth, of West Sunbury and Terry McGarrah and his wife, Judy, of Butler; two daughters, Diane Monteleone and Randy Christie and her husband, Len, both of Butler; seven grandchildren, Leslie Monteleone, Jerry McGarrah and his wife, Christine, Kevin McGarrah and his wife, Jennifer, Matthew McGarrah, Ryan McGarrah, Adam Christie and Devin Christie; seven great-grandchildren, Brookelle Bergbigler, Logan Bergbigler, Adrianna McGarrah, Tristan McGarrah, Madison McGarrah, Emerson McGarrah and Ryder Christie; one sister, Carol Noel of Butler; several nieces and nephews; and caregiver and friend, Lisa Harvey of Butler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
McGarrah — A memorial service for Winifred May McGarrah, who passed away Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, was today at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
