Henry “Hen” D. Schmid
Henry “Hen” D. Schmid, 87, of Massilon, Ohio, formerly of Callery, passed away Dec. 19 in Canal Fulton, Ohio.
Born Dec. 18, 1928, in Callery, he was the son of the late Hans K. and Martha P. Metz Schmid.
He was a Methodist. While growing up in Callery, he was a member of the Crestview Presbyterian Church.
Hen was an advertising manager director of Marketing for Davey Tree Expert Co. for 41 years, retiring in 1994.
He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
He was an avid hunter and often came back to Pennsylvania for hunting.
Hen was a member of the Cleveland Advertising Club and the Massilon Eagles Club.
He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Sue (Jeffrey) Kruse of Falls Church, Va.; one sister, Betty S. Henry of Florida; and one brother, Bruce K. Schmid of Washington; and his nieces and nephews.
SCHMID — Friends of Henry “Hen” D. Schmid, who died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 328 W. Main St., Evans City. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m.Burial will follow at the Mars Cemetery.
